I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is from the service, to the atmosphere, most of all the food!!!!The brussels sprouts ,the Caesar salad, the oysters, and of course the dry aged rib eye ..... There is not a bad thing on the menu! Highly recommend there's a reason it's hard to get a reservation!Update: second visit there and I believe the food got even better if that was possible! Service was remarkable from picking out the type of wine to complement our menu choices and to making suggestions for the appetizer and side dishes. This isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a true experience for a person that really loves food !!!
One of my new favorite restaurants in New Jersey. The bone marrow pizza and the wagyu skirt steak are excellent.Came here with a 5 month old baby and the way they accommodated us was fantastic. They made us feel super welcomed which is very rare when you take a baby to a nicer restaurant. All the wait stuff is super friendly and cool and gives good recommendations on the food. The food is not cheep but the quality you’re receiving for the is right on point, with a fun menu and great cocktails. Highly recommend to anyone for a date night or family meal.
My wife and I had dinner here for Valentines Day, and we enjoyed our time. The drinks had well-balanced flavors and they didn't skimp out on the amount of alcohol or glass size. We opted to try the Australian Wagyu steak for two and shared that with a wonderful array of sides. The service was pretty smooth and efficient despite how busy the restaurant was. We will definitely be coming back with friends to enjoy another phenomenal dinner.
Great food, drinks and great atmosphere, and very accommodating. Everything we ordered came out perfectly cooked and flavorful. The staff was very attentive. The food is family style and the portions are big enough to feed 3 to 4 people per order. The price is fair for the quality and quantity of the food. Two highlights from our lunch was the Brussel sprouts and the Spinalis, but everything else we had was also very good. The decor is charming, and reminds me of an old vineyard, exposed brick, vines and archways with chandeliers with thought down to every painstaking detail making the whole restaurant inviting and adding to the family style atmosphere. The restaurant was also pet friendly and had a wheelchair lift with staff who were happy to operate it. Which sadly isn't always a given at restaurants especially higher end ones.We will definitely be coming back next time we are in NJ!
Ok, so im not one to leave reviews. I just wanna say, this place knocked our socks off! I ve eaten all over the world n even Paris wasnt as GOOD as Butchers Block! Its NOT cheap, but worth every penny. The staff was incredibly polite, helpful, and friendly. The food was phenomenal! Ambiance(sp) was great, drinks(martinis) incredible...this was our YOLO date night. Thank you Sophia and Dominic. I hope people can look past the prices and give this place a chance. Will not disappoint!-Ryan K-
More than half our party got sick prior to our booked reservations, the beautiful hostess was so kind and made arrangements for a smaller table for us. The staff is always a fun group and the ambiance is incredible. The steaks are amazing but so are the Italian pasta dishes that are offered! Highly recommend.
Had a nice dinner here with friends right before Christmas. We started off with a couple cocktails, and had a couple steaks for dinner. The steaks were cooked perfect and the sides we surprisingly tasty. (Brussel sprouts with captin chrunch , whipped mash potatoes and some type of sausage dish). This place is definitely worth a shot. Also bring your wallet lol
This restaurant is worth every bit of the hype. We had an amazing experience. First of all, we popped in around 7pm expecting to not get seats. It was crowded. We were able to get two seats at the bar as requested. Front of house professional and polite. We didn't encounter any pretension or attitude from any staff at all the whole time we were dining. We had the porterhouse for two. It was the best steak I've ever had. Will definitely return. The Block is Aces.
